This workbook has been designed to enable employees to understand the importance of good governance with regard to the purpose, use and safety of personal information held and retained to support delivery of the service.
The workbook provides information on how to conform to the required standards. By law, Agincare is responsible for making sure that the care they provide meets national guidelines and complies with Data Protection legislation and confidentiality laws.
Keeping high quality care records is not only necessary to comply with the law; it also ensures that there is the proper information available to both staff and people using the service to evidence that we are able to, and can continue to, meet their care and support needs.
This workbook is relevant to all personnel within the business who have access to confidential and personal information including:
- All care and support staff (all grades) including care managers, registered managers, and senior operational staff who access and review information and record keeping.
- All staff working within the finance department who have access to confidential information about people who use services and staff
- All staff working within Human Resources who have access to sensitive information concerning staff
- All administrative staff who have access to data collection and recording systems where sensitive personal information is held
This workbook is a distance learning pack where you are expected to engage in a programme of self-directed learning at the end of which you will be expected to answer the questions having read through and understood all sections. On completion of the workbook, your line manager will assess your responses to the questions. The length of time taken to complete the workbook will be dependent on targets your manager has set for you.
